Dubai Creek Harbour

Dubai Creek Harbour was unveiled by Emaar Properties and Dubai Holding in October 2014 as a residential, commercial and leisure district of about 6 km² on the banks of Dubai Creek in Ras Al Khor, beside the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary. The two companies had signed a joint venture agreement in 2013. The site had earlier been planned as The Lagoons by Sama Dubai, a Dubai Holding subsidiary, where work stalled in 2009. At the 2014 launch the partners announced plans for about 39,000 homes and 22 hotels. In August 2022 Emaar announced a deal to acquire Dubai Holding's share and take full ownership of the development. Emaar lists about 500,000 m² of parks and open spaces in the community, with apartments and villas. In April 2020 Reuters reported, citing sources, that Emaar had suspended work at Dubai Creek Harbour, including a tower billed as taller than Burj Khalifa. In December 2024 the Dubai Media Office announced that the planned Dubai Metro Blue Line will have a Dubai Creek Harbour station designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, with operations scheduled to start in September 2029.
