By 2014 Business Bay was an office-residential district without distinct lifestyle objects. World of Wonders Group, after a successful Viceroy/Five partnership on Palm, partnered with American SLS Hotels (then part of sbe Group, later acquired by Ennismore) to launch a lifestyle object in Business Bay.
Construction ran 2016–2021. The main architectural decision: three separate rooftop infinity pools, each with its own temperature and zoning. This delivered a 'vertical resort' effect inside an office district.
Today SLS Dubai is one of Business Bay's most liquid hotel-residence objects. Most owners enrol apartments in the hotel programme. Occupancy stays above 80% consistently. Price per square metre rivals The Opus (the neighbouring knockout object), reflecting branded service and iconic architecture.
