FIVE Palm Jumeirah

FIVE Palm Jumeirah is a hotel-and-residences building at the base of the trunk of Palm Jumeirah. When the project was announced, Gulf News reported that Skai Holdings was the owner, Zaya Dubai the developer and Viceroy Hotels and Resorts the operator, with a 481-room hotel and 221 serviced apartments branded Viceroy Residences.

The CTBUH Skyscraper Center lists the building as completed in 2017, with 20 floors above ground, 477 hotel rooms and 221 apartments; it names SKAI Holdings as developer, P & T Group as design architect and China State Construction Engineering Corporation as main contractor. In December 2016 Hotel Online reported that the project, Skai’s first hotel and residences, was complete, that handover of the residences to owners had begun and that the hotel would open in March 2017. Gulf News described the hotel as structured like an H, with residence wings on either side and a 14th-floor ballroom on the central bridge connecting the two towers.

In June 2017 Gulf Business reported that the hotel’s owner, Five Holdings, previously called SKAI Holdings and led by chairman and CEO Kabir Mulchandani, had renamed the property Five Palm Jumeirah Dubai and announced its takeover by the affiliated Five Hotels and Resorts, a move contested at the time by Viceroy.
