The site was first developed as Pentominium, conceived in 2007 by the Trident group. The project was halted during the 2008 global financial downturn and was later sold at auction via Emirates Auction, through a Dubai Courts-approved administration process. In December 2023 Select Group announced it had acquired the development, naming Woods Bagot as architect, WSP as lead consultant and architect of record, and Mitchell & Eades as interior designer.

In March 2024 IHG announced the project as Six Senses Residences Dubai Marina, and in April 2024 Gulf News reported that off-plan sales had started. Select Group describes it as Six Senses' first standalone residential development, following Six Senses Residences The Palm. The developer lists 251 residences, from two- to four-bedroom apartments to half-floor penthouses and duplex and triplex Sky Mansions, with four floors of amenities.

In October 2024 it was reported that Select Group had awarded the main construction contract to Arabian Construction Company, with main works set to restart on 1 November 2024. CTBUH gives 2024 as the construction start and lists the tower as under construction, with an all-concrete structure. Completion is expected in 2028, according to CTBUH and 2024 reports.
