In the early 2010s, DAMAC began experimenting with 'branded residences' — a hybrid of standard residence and lifestyle partnerships with luxury brands. Up to then, such collaborations were rare in Dubai: only isolated cases like Armani Residences (Burj Khalifa) and Atlantis. DAMAC decided to systematise the approach. By 2013 a partnership with Versace Home had been signed: the Italian fashion house got exclusivity on interior design for a new Marina tower.
