EMAAR · 2005 BRIEF

In 2003 Emaar began Burj Khalifa construction and simultaneously planned the mega-project's residential surroundings. South Ridge became one of the first residence clusters — a mass format with a shared park, aimed at the mid-segment. The idea: populate Downtown with families and expats, not only tourists and investors.

02Construction2005 — 2009 · CONSTRUCTION

Construction ran 2005–2009. By 2009 handover, Downtown was still forming — Burj Khalifa opened just months later (January 2010). This meant South Ridge's first residents were buyers who believed in Downtown before the district was 'proven.'

03Life today2009 — TODAY · LIFE

Today South Ridge is core Downtown's entry-point address by price. Large inventory sustains an active secondary market. Residents are predominantly expats on medium-to-long contracts and owner-occupants valuing central Downtown at accessible prices. Price per square metre has risen 2.5x since handover, but still trails neighbouring newer objects.
