La Mer

La Mer is a beachfront destination developed by Meraas in Jumeirah 1. It covers 13.4 million sq ft (about 1.2 km²) of existing and reclaimed land between Pearl Jumeirah and Jumeirah Bay, near the Etihad Museum and the Dubai Water Canal, and is surrounded by about 2.5 km of beaches. Its first phase, La Mer North and La Mer South, opened on 15 October 2017 with more than 130 shops, cafés, restaurants and beach activities. The plan announced at the time also included a second phase, The Wharf, with a waterpark, a cinema and further shops and restaurants, and, at a later stage, a hotel and a residential community on two man-made peninsulas. Port de La Mer, which Meraas announced as the first residential community at La Mer, sits at the tip of the north peninsula. Meraas lists a marina with more than 190 berths and a yacht club at La Mer.
