Palm Jebel Ali is a man-made archipelago developed by Nakheel in the Jebel Ali area of Dubai. It was launched in 2002 as one of three planned palm-shaped archipelagos, and construction was later put on hold. In May 2023 Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved a new masterplan for the archipelago, which Dubai Media Office described as covering an area of 13.4 km², twice the size of Palm Jumeirah. Nakheel's 2025 and 2026 announcements give the same figure as a length, describing Palm Jebel Ali as spanning 13.4 km; the two official sources differ on the unit. According to Nakheel, it comprises seven interconnected islands with 16 fronds and more than 90 km of beachfront. The 2023 masterplan announcement set out plans for homes for about 35,000 families and more than 80 hotels and resorts. Nakheel's October 2025 announcement for Palm Jebel Ali also described a planned 9,000 m² retail centre and a Friday mosque for up to 1,000 worshippers designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM).
