Al Wasl

Al Wasl is one of Dubai's older neighbourhoods. The National described it in 2010 as running south from Al Safa Road to Safa Park and east from Al Wasl Road to Sheikh Zayed Road, across the highway from Burj Khalifa. According to the paper, the name goes back to the 1820s, when British historians referred to all of Dubai as Al Wasl. Gulf News reported in 2018 that most properties around Al Wasl Road are villas and that low-rise housing makes Al Wasl less dense than other parts of Dubai.
