Jebel Ali Village

Jebel Ali Village is a residential community just off Sheikh Zayed Road near Ibn Battuta Mall in Dubai. It was built in 1977 to house expatriates and had around 290 homes, laid out as villas with large gardens around a hill, with a mosque, a primary school, a small shopping centre and a social club. In November 2021 Nakheel announced a plan to redevelop the village as a gated, hillside community covering 80 hectares, and said the Jebel Ali Recreation Club would remain open during the redevelopment. The original homes were demolished in 2022, and in August 2026 Nakheel began handing over 892 new villas and townhouses. Nakheel describes the community as next to Sheikh Zayed Road, near Ibn Battuta Mall and Discovery Gardens Metro Station.
