Kerzner International / ICD

Kerzner International Holdings describes itself as an international developer and operator of destination resorts, casinos and luxury hotels. Its resort brands include Atlantis, One&Only and Mazagan.

In Dubai, Kerzner developed Atlantis, The Palm as a joint venture with the government-owned developer Nakheel. The resort opened in September 2008, and its opening celebration was held on 20 November 2008. In 2012 Istithmar World completed the purchase of Kerzner's 50% interest in the resort; Kerzner remained its operator.

In April 2014 the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), the investment arm of the Government of Dubai, bought a significant stake in Kerzner International Holdings from founder Sol Kerzner's family and institutional investors; AGBI later put the stake at 46%. In September 2014 ICD and Kerzner announced The Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences, an expansion next to Atlantis on the crescent of The Palm designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox. Gulf News reported that the property is owned by ICD and managed by Kerzner, which owns the Atlantis brand. Atlantis The Royal, which combines a hotel with residences, opened on Palm Jumeirah in February 2023.
